And just like that 2016 is over. Hard to imagine, isn’t it? In a few days we will be staying up past our bed time and waiting for the clock to strike midnight. The New Year comes with new opportunities, the chance to start fresh. It’s also a time to reflect on the year past. So grab the champagne and plan a New Year’s Eve party that will be one for the books! Here are a few tips for planning a party everyone will sure to be talking about!

Glitter, Black & Gold and Balloons
That’s literally all you need to know (so simple right?). Black and gold has always been associated with NYE. Why? Who knows, but it works. It’s timeless and classy and you should stick with it. While you’re at it, add some glitter. It doesn’t matter what color it is as long as it shines! You could also incorporate some confetti for when the clock strikes midnight! Another trend we love is oversized balloons. They are so fun for adults and children alike! They are great for taking pictures with or just bumping them around all night. Fun tip: Fill them with the confetti or glitter! It adds a neat texture.

I would like to take a second to thank everyone for their continued support through 2016. Sprigs & Twigs would be nothing without our clients. We hope all of you and your families have a safe and happy 2017. We look forward to serving you in the coming year with any floral and décor needs you might have!

In just a few short weeks we will find ourselves scrambling to purchase last minute gifts. There is nothing more stressful than being in a store jam packed with other people two days before Christmas. So in this blog I’m going to share with you a few fun handmade gift options that are sure to impress!

Terrarium
Not only have they gained popularity over these past few years, terrariums are incredibly fun and easy to make! You can find the pebbles you need outside as well as fun sticks or moss. You can gather shells or driftwood from the beach. Your terrarium can have any theme you want and you can add any decorations that might intrigue you. You can use moss, succulents or even air plants! Think of what the person you are making them for likes, you can add almost anything! These are also great for people who many not have a green thumb as they are very easy to care for. Fun tip: head to any kids toy store and look for little action figures, Lego people, or toy animals, they add a nice fun finishing touch!

Fun Containers
There are a million ways you can take a boring old terra cotta pot and jazz it up and give it as a gift. Paint it, cover it in burlap, or write an inspirational quote on it. You can plant a succulent in it, or maybe an herb plant for the chef in the family. Tip: Don’t make it took orientated towards the holidays, you want people to be able to keep it on display all year round.
